About Stan Bain
Born and raised in Montana, Stan Bain discovered adventure early in life. At 17, he made his first parachute jump in 1962 and later earned his Class D skydiver license. Two years later, he soloed his first flight, beginning a lifelong passion for aviation.
After serving in Vietnam, Stan built a 33-year career with the U.S. Forest Service, teaching part-time at Flathead Community College and later serving as Program Leader of Operations at the Remote Sensing Application Center in Utah.
Writing became his therapy after Vietnam, leading to his first book, You Are Never Alone. He now lives in Florida with Loretta and his dog, Luna.

The Bookshelf Book Signing: A Journey of Stories, Connections, and Inspiration
A book signing is more than just an opportunity to meet an author—it is a celebration of stories, shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and the powerful connections that bring readers and writers together. It is a chance to meet new friends, connect with loyal followers, and discover how a story can touch lives in ways we may never have imagined.
My journey began with my very first book, You Are Never Alone, during a book signing held on Veterans Day, November 11, 2018, at The Bookshelf in my hometown of Kalispell, Montana. That first event was especially meaningful because it was connected to a veterans’ food drive, allowing me to bring together my passion for writing and my desire to support a worthy cause.

Since that memorable day, I have had the privilege of holding five book signings at The Bookshelf. Each event has given me another opportunity to meet readers, share experiences, hear personal stories, and strengthen the bond between an author and the people who bring their words to life.
My fifth book signing took place on June 26–27, 2026, marking another meaningful milestone in my journey as an author. Looking back, I realize that every book signing represents more than a date on the calendar. Each one is a reminder of the people I have met, the stories we have shared, and the lasting impact that books can have on our lives.
Because books are more than pages filled with words—they are bridges between hearts, experiences that bring people together, and legacies that continue long after the final page is turned.
I am grateful to everyone who has supported my writing journey, visited The Bookshelf, picked up one of my books, and taken the time to share their own stories with me. Every conversation and every connection reminds me why I continue to write.
